Our story goes all the way back to 1862 when the first church was built in Oak Ridge. Beginning with the vision of a few men and women, the first baptist church in Oak Ridge was founded. Our church’s official existence began when two baptist churches became one in 1876. Instead of division, our church’s story is grounded in the unity that God brings through the Gospel. Through many generations, the people of Oak Ridge FBC have experienced God’s faithfulness as He has graciously sustained His church for almost 150 years.
Oak Ridge FBC has been the vehicle for God having changed countless lives for His glory and for the good of our greater community. Today, we long to continue that story of unity and changed lives for the glory of God. Specifically, as we grow and move forward, we want to be part of lives being changed by the power and love of the Gospel. We want to see salvation brought to the lost, brokenness healed and abundant life experienced. We want to see our church continue to grow in our faithfulness to God as worshippers of Him, as family with one another, and as missionaries to the world for the glory of God and for the good of the world.
This is the story we have stepped into and want to continue. Will you join us in this story?
