Our Mission

        Our prayer is that people from every walk of life might see our Lord clearly in all that we do, and learn the richness and joy of a life lived by His grace and power through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. 

       We recognize that the Bible is the very word of the Living God to man, and understand the priority of knowing and obeying its truths. We at First Baptist Church, Oak Ridge are deeply committed to studying and teaching Scripture with diligence and authority.

 The central ministry of our church is to make known biblical truth to the people of God that they may know Him and serve Him in worship and ministry.

 We want to live as our mission statement reads:

Growing In Christ—Sharing His Light!

 We have people at every level in the church. We need to be leading them to move on to the next level.

1. Starting in Christ: Romans 10:9; 2nd Corinthians 5:17

The Root system of the tree comes from an acorn.

2. Strengthening in Christ: Psalm 31:24; 2nd Peter 3:18

The Trunk and Branches come from growth and offer strength.

3. Serving in Christ: Romans 15:1-5; Philippians 2:3-8

The Leaves offer shade and are the life of the tree.

4. Sowing in Christ: Matthew 4:19; Matthew 28:19-20

The Acorns share life with those that have none.

This is a complete circle. Every word is tied to all.

In our mission as a church, we, ourselves, must be growing in our strategy and leading others to do the same.
